Q: How long do I run the engine with the flush additive before draining the oil?
A: Add it to the old oil with the engine warm, then run at idle for 10 minutes. No longer. Extended running with flush additives dilutes the remaining oil's lubricating properties. After 10 minutes, shut off and drain immediately while the oil is still hot and the dissolved sludge is in suspension.
